Beautiful Things To See in Cavite, Philippines

By on 8/07/2014 10:00:00 PM

The Province of Cavite offers awesome tourist attractions, magnificent beaches, hot spring resorts, colorful festivals, hundreds of scenic spots and world-class hotels and facilities. Not to mention the tropical climate, the affordable prices as well as the friendly and hospitable, English-speaking people! You will be glad you came, and we’re sure, you WILL come back for more FUN in the Philippines!

Aguinaldo Shrine

The opulent Aguinaldo mansion (built 1845) in Kawit played an important role in Philippine history. It was here when Cavite's revolutionary general Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the independence of the Philippines from Spanish rule, creating Asia's first republic on June 12, 1898. Technically, Aguinaldo was the first president.

The compound was declared a national shrine after the death of the general in 1964, whose tomb was placed in the garden behind the mansion. There's a newly built park in front of the mansion.

Imus Cathedral

Founded in 1795 as a Parochial Church by the Augustinian Recollect priests under the patronage of Nuestra Señora del Pilar (Our Lady of the Pillar) and St. John the Baptist, and by the administration of Fr. Francisco de Santiago, OAR, as its first Parish Priest.
In 1823, the church was moved from Toclong to Balangon (present-day Imus Town Proper), where it currently stands.

The present church is made of stone and bricks and was built under Fr. Nicolas Becerra, OAR, who served from 1821 to 1840. The church was administered by the Secular priests in 1897. On November 25, 1961, the birth of the Diocese of Imus, the church was declared a Cathedral and the Seat of the Diocese of Imus. It became the Mother Church of the Province of Cavite, with Nuestra Señora del Pilar as the Titular Patroness Saint of the Diocese of Imus, and of the whole Province of Cavite.

Imus City Community

Once claimed as the Christmas Town of the Philippines, Imus is a clean and lovely town made popular by its Christmas street preparations started as early as 3rd week of November where every barrio start to decorate their streets with beautiful Christmas lanterns and other holidays stuffs. When visiting Imus during this season, you will notice that you're about to pass by another barrio when the design/ color/ theme of the street changes.

Tagaytay High Lands

Undeniably the most popular attraction of Cavite province, Tagaytay City is at the other end of the Aguinaldo Highway. Tagaytay is famous for its cool and windy atmosphere, fantastic views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano and fresh fruits and vegetables and beef meat.

Caylabne Bay Resort

Caylabne Bay Resort is located in Ternate, Cavite. It's 90 km south of Manila. We visited the place April 2006 with some friends from work. It has 2 pools and a beachfront but there were jellyfish so we just stayed in the pools.

Part of the daytrip was lunch (choose from liempo, fried chicken and pork) which was a disappointment. We expected something more from the P1000 package. It didn't include drinks, either. We still had fun in the pools primarily because of the company, and the change of scenery.

They have ATVs, banana boat, aquacycles and paddle boards for rent. The rest of the groups rented ATVs and they said it was fun (so this is not first-hand but it's from 4/4 people). I appreciated this trip because it's far from Dasma where I'm based and it was a welcome break from work.

Island Cove

You may want to give this one a try. The place has a butterfly park, a mini zoo, a water park, and there are several things that the family can do like a sing at their videoke, eat at the restaurant that serves filipino food, or play table tennis.

The place is ok. Nothing fancy about it. But I particularly like the bird farm with the ostriches and the emu. These animals are not indigenous to the Philippines but somehow they thrive well here. There's also a crocodile farm that surrounds a place where they have monkeys. The monkeys are funny creatures as they are sooo playful. The kids will adore them.

Buruwisan Falls

Another beautiful scenery in Cavite is the Balite falls The falls is located in Barangay Halang which is roughly 3 km north of Amadeo.

Pico de Loro’s two peaks:

Perhaps the most captivating features of the mountain are the two peaks forming the ‘beak of a parrot.’ “Pico de Loro,” which is part of the Mt. Palay Palay, got its name from early Spanish explorers who noticed the beak-like feature while sailing towards the South China Sea.

Cabag Caves

Cabag Caves in Silang Cavite –  The place could be found at the bottom of the slope which runs down a steep angle to a brook. Lush greenery surround this little valley where at its bottom corner one could find the Cabag Cave where clear water strongly flows out. Inside the cave, an underground river flows and runs for about 50 meters inward. A pool of water is formed immediately of the mouth of the cave which leads to the brook.

Puerto Azul

Puerto Azul (Ternate). The plushiest resort in the area. It is equipped with modern and varied facilities and offers a wide range of sports and recreation from golf to a number of water sports. It has been the site of many international aquasports competitions.
A tourists’ paradise in the outskirts of Ternate town in Cavite, this pleasant resort is just a few hours drive from Manila. A world-class beach resort with it’s seven coves, black sandy beaches, luxurious accommodations, a famous golf course and good restaurants. It features facilities for surf and turf sports, and many other activities.

Ulong Tubig

Ulong Tubig (Carmona). A pool formed by natural spring water that comes from an adjacent hill. The pool leads to an irrigation pump which supplies a vast number of rice fields in Carmona. The area is shaded by coconut trees and other greenery. It is said that during the morning, the water is very clear. However, it becomes tinged green due to algae disturbed by swimmers during the  afternoon.

Tagaytay Ridge

The ridge, which overlooks Taal Lake in Batangas province, is actually the edge of Taal Caldera. The 25-by-30-kilometre (16 × 19 mi) wide cavity is partially filled by Taal Lake. Tagaytay’s built-up areas including the urban center is situated in the relatively level top of the caldera rim but beyond the edge are deep ravines that drop straight down to Taal Lake. The portions adjoining the municipalities of Mendez, Indang, Amadeo and Silang are level to nearly level areas interspersed with very gently sloping surface. Across the southern edge of the lake on the opposite side of the city is Mount Macolod, the highest point of the Taal Caldera rim.
